POSITION SUMMARY
- The Shipping-Receiving Clerk ensures the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse, overseeing loading, unloading, storage, and inventory accuracy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Shift Equipment Inspection & Safety Checks
- Conduct pre-shift inspection of lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Verify that all equipment is in proper working condition, reporting issues to supervisors for maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety protocols, including PPE usage.
Loading, Unloading
- Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring efficient movement and proper handling.
- Route incoming and outgoing shipments to designated storage areas for organized warehouse operations.
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against shipping and receiving documents for accuracy.
Inventory Management & Logistics
- Ensure inventory accuracy through the precise counting and reconciliation of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products.
- Responsible for the safe and timely retrieval/transport of finished product skids from the daily production area.
- Conduct precise inventory counts, record shortages, and reject damaged goods.
Warehouse Organization & Record Keeping
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-organized warehouse, following industry best practices.
- Utilize CMMS or warehouse management systems to track inventory and shipment movement.
- Complete all required reports and documentation, ensuring proper records for incoming and outgoing shipments.
Communication & Team Collaboration
- Cooperate and collaborate with supervisors, management, and cross-functional teams to improve efficiency.
- Maintain clear communication regarding warehouse operations, inventory needs, and process improvements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating lift trucks in a warehouse setting.
- Valid lift truck certification in Counterbalance, Light Pallet Truck BT, and Raymond Reach.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced Warehouse Management Experience – Familiarity with inventory control systems for tracking shipments and stock levels.
- Food Industry Experience – Prior experience working in a food production or bakery setting, ensuring compliance with GMP and food safety regulations.
- Knowledge of Logistics & Shipping Standards – Familiarity with freight regulations, packaging requirements, and shipment coordination to improve operational efficiency

- Warehouse & Inventory Management: Ability to track stock levels, organize shipments, and perform accurate inventory counts.
- Material Handling & Equipment Operation: Skilled in operating forklifts (Counterbalance, Raymond Reach, Light Pallet Truck BT) and handling bakery products safely.
- Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving: Able to verify shipments, identify damaged goods, and troubleshoot logistical challenges efficiently.
- Communication & Teamwork: Strong verbal and written skills for coordinating with supervisors and ensuring smooth warehouse operations.
- Adherence to Safety Protocols: Must follow speed limits, designated travel paths, and pedestrian right-of-way to minimize risks.
- Multi-Tasking Under Pressure: Ability to monitor surroundings, manage loads, and communicate with co-workers while maintaining operational safety.
- Time Management & Efficiency: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain workflow in a fast-paced environment.
- Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of workplace safety regulations, WHMIS, and GMP standards to maintain a secure work environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, with occasional handling of heavier loads.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach frequently throughout the shift to move products and access storage areas.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment, maintaining full awareness of surroundings in tight spaces, blind corners, and pedestrian zones.
- Safely navigate confined areas, using mirrors, horns, and controlled movements to prevent collisions.
- Maintain posture and endurance, sitting or standing for extended periods while operating equipment or managing warehouse tasks.
- Steady hand-eye coordination and grip strength for handling controls, scanning inventory, and adjusting loads precisely.
- Adapt to varying environmental conditions, including refrigerated storage, warm production areas, and busy loading docks.
Please note that this position is for the afternoon shift, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
