Flex-Pression Ontario is a manufacturer of hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies, as well as a supplier of flexible metal and stainless-steel braided hose, metal expansion joints, and a wide range of fluid conveyance products.
Our products are designed to meet the compliance requirements of industries including oil and gas, pulp and paper, steel, construction, OEM (original equipment manufacturing), and other industrial sectors. Flex-Pression Ontario is certified by all applicable regulatory authorities, including CSA, Boiler and Pressure Vessel (BPV) authorities (such as TSSA in Ontario), ULC, and is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Senior Hydraulic & Industrial Hose Assembler will be responsible for learning and performing the following tasks in accordance with company procedures:
- Learn and apply hose assembly procedures, including identifying correct hose types and end connections
- Accurately measure materials using a tape measure
- Perform pressure testing and inspections in accordance with established procedures
- Identify product non-conformances and collaborate with team members to determine appropriate corrective actions
- Conduct final inspections of finished products, including completing and attaching required documentation and tags prior to shipping or customer delivery
- Assist with packaging and preparation of finished goods for shipment
- Perform or assist with incoming inspection of materials
- Complete preparatory and assembly tasks, including measuring, cutting, and preparing materials using hose saws, chop saws, and other equipment
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Crosstrain and support warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving functions such as order picking, packing, and material handling
- Assist with loading and unloading shipments as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and respect in all interactions
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. (23 kg) on a regular basis
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequent bending, lifting, twisting, and reaching
- Manual dexterity required for handling tools and small components
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Ability to work in a warehouse/shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
- You must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe footwear
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, assembly, or shipping/receiving environment is considered an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools and equipment safely
- Basic math skills and ability to read and interpret measurements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Willingness to learn and be trained in hose assembly procedures, warehouse operations, and safety standards
