Social Media Specialist & Content Creator
Location
Full-time. In-person at our Kelowna office (Gordon / Harvey Ave area), with local travel to client sites. Occasional across Canada & international travel.
Compensation
$45,000 – $65,000 base salary (depending on experience and skills)

About Untold Marketing
We’re a team of 6 marketers, with specialized skills, from building websites, to using cinema cameras, to running Meta ads. But what we’re missing is: you! A social media expert, armed with your cellphone and a sense of humor to make our clients go viral (if they want to).
Must-Have Core Proficiencies:
- Mobile Filming & Advanced Editing: Cellphone filming and editing high-quality content that actually performs on social media. You must be highly proficient in mobile-first editing software and apps such as CapCut, Captions, and Edits
- Content planning, scripting, quickly adapting to the latest social media formats, while being creative enough to come up with your own ideas (without relying on ChatGPT, we value critical thinking).
- Talking to clients, you have to know social media enough to be able to direct a client on what to say, do, act, to get the best results possible for the client, AND know how to articulate that to a client in a friendly and professional manner. Give them a compliment, make them feel natural, put them at ease, make them laugh.
- Platform Management: Running, optimizing, and growing business accounts across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok. You know how content needs to be adapted differently for a B2B audience on LinkedIn versus a short-form audience on TikTok. How to caption, write copy, comment; what’s appropriate for a Doctor/Lawyer will be different from a novelty ecommerce brand.
- Design Capabilities: Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva to assist with assets, or visual branding.

Production Fundamentals: A solid understanding of lighting, composition, audio, and professional mirrorless cameras.
Advanced editing: Motion graphic animations, Davinci Resolve, Colour grading, Fusion, composites, photo editing on Lightroom or equivalent.
Client-onboarding: Comfort leading consultative strategy conversations with clients, handling discovery nuances
Newsletter: Ability to handle newsletters from concept to execution. You understand newsletter design, layout functionality, copy/creative writing, and feel completely comfortable navigating platforms like Mailchimp to manage audiences and launch campaigns.
What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day
The successful candidate is comfortable working with a team, as well as self-lead solo with a client, driven to Come up with ideas, script, shoot, edit, and publish high-performing content daily. One day you might be clipping our internal reels; on Tuesday you’re on a construction site capturing raw behind-the-scenes footage for a client.
Trend & Data Analysis: You know what works, and can explain why. You research platform shifts, look at metrics, and can clearly explain why an idea will work to our team and our clients.
