This is an in-person position based in downtown Vancouver.
Key Qualifications (About you)
- Post-secondary education in a business field (specialization in finance or accounting is preferred)
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience in accounting and/or taxation is preferred
- A foundational understanding of accounting, willingness to learn and become proficient in diverse estates and trusts tax rules is essential
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and time-manage
- Impeccable accuracy with numbers and high attention to detail
- Tech-savvy including Excel proficiency, with knowledge of Word
- Excellent telephone etiquette and ability to write clear, concise and formal business communications
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion and to be entrusted with confidential information
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team with minimal supervision
Responsibilities
- Preparing T1 Personal Tax Returns, T3 Trust Tax Returns (including Estates), and T2 Corporate Tax Returns
- Working strategically with colleagues within the firm
- Actively engaging in tax compliance, planning and strategy development by analysing client tax issues, relevant tax laws, provisions, and jurisprudence
- Performing research into tax issues and opportunities
- Completing a variety of tax forms
- Communicating with the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA), financial institutions and lawyers on behalf of our clients
- Meeting and communicating with our clients to deliver tax services

Schedule
Monday to Friday – 8:30 – 5:00 with a 1-hour lunch. This is subject to change during busy periods in March and April when weekend and evening availability times are required.
