Job Title: Line Cook

Location: BarrHead, Alberta (On-site)

Work Type: Temporary

Salary: $20 - $22

We are currently seeking a dependable and passionate Cook to join our team in Barrhead, Alberta. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer service. The successful candidate will be organized, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering consistent, high-quality food while working collaboratively with the kitchen team.

What You Will Be Doing

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines.
Ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely manner while maintaining consistency and presentation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.
Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control procedures.
Monitor food inventory and communicate supply requirements to management.
Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing food deliveries.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance concerns.
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Adhere to all Alberta Health Services and workplace health and safety regulations.
Support kitchen cleaning duties, including dishwashing, workstation sanitation, and end-of-shift cleanup.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude while delivering excellent service.

What You Will Bring

Previous experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, camp, healthcare, or hospitality environment.
Valid Food Handling Certificate (mandatory).
Vulnerability section check is good to have
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable transportation to Barrhead, Alberta, or willingness to relocate/commute.
Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required.
