Accounting Assistant

Location: Squamish, BC
Position: Full-Time, In-Office (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday)
Salary: Starting at $60,000 per year plus benefits

SIDAS is a global leader in foot comfort, ski boot fitting, and performance solutions, with headquarters in France.

Based in Squamish, BC, Sidas Technologies North America provides finance and administrative support services to Sidas World USA, our sister company responsible for sales and marketing operations throughout North America.

We are a small, collaborative Accounting and Administrative team that values accountability, continuous improvement, and a positive workplace culture.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support the Finance & Administration Manager with day-to-day accounting functions, month-end processes, and reporting.

This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting or bookkeeping experience who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
Maintain accrual, prepaid expense, and fixed asset schedules
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances
Prepare supporting schedules, working papers, and reports
Review accounts payable transactions and employee expense reports
Support financial reporting and data analysis
Assist with maintaining accounting records and process improvements

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting support experience
Accounting diploma, certificate, or related post-secondary education preferred
Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations
Experience supporting month-end accounting processes
Microsoft Office with Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Experience with accounting software or ERP systems
Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
