What we are looking for…
An adaptable and proactive hospitality professional to join our facilities team in maintaining a 22-acre retreat property in Whistler (located 10 minutes south of Whistler Creek). This role ensures seamless daily operations and a safe, welcoming, guest-ready environment year-round.
You will be responsible for the general upkeep, repairs, and maintenance of guest accommodations, indoor/outdoor spaces, and light equipment. This includes overseeing critical property infrastructure—such as septic systems, water treatment systems, roads, and pathways—alongside assisting with farm duties as required.
This role requires a hands-on individual with extensive property maintenance experience and a high attention to detail. You must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, collaborate effectively within a team, and respond confidently to emergencies.
What you bring to the role…
- Proven experience in property maintenance, or caretaking, particularly in large, multi-building properties, hospitality, or retreat operations.
- Professional presentation and representation.
- Ability to work positively and independently within an inclusive team environment.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and guest relations skills.
- Responsive and results focused with the ability to troubleshoot when needed.
- Ability to assess, plan, and execute tasks efficiently from inception to completion.
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage both long-term and routine short-term tasks within deadlines.
- Sound mechanical aptitude.
- Heat pump/ HRV/ HVAC, water treatment, and septic system knowledge is an asset.
- Ability to follow a task management system: Trello, Google Forms, Docs, and Sheets.
- Familiarity with farm operations is an asset.
- Road grading, winter snow removal, and operation of a Bobcat experience an asset.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving abstract required.
- Ability to perform manual labor in all weather conditions.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance duties which may include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work relief shifts as needed, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends if required.
- High-end lodge hospitality experience preferred.
- Reliable transportation or means to reach our location as needed.
- Ability to work Saturday - Tuesday/Wednesday.
- A related trade certification would be an asset.
- CPR / Occupational First Aid (OAF) certified.
- Valid work permit required.
This job requires a proactive, versatile individual who is comfortable maintaining buildings, infrastructure, and equipment, while creating a safe and welcoming environment for guests and teammates year-round.
We offer a competitive wage of $25 - $31.50 / hour (DOE) for this contract position ending October 31, 2026 with the potential for extension. This role includes an extended healthcare plan and subsidized housing, depending on qualifications and scheduled contract hours. Spouses welcome if accommodation is negotiated.

Pay: $25.00-$31.50 per hour
