Corridor Concrete Pumping operates out of Squamish, B.C. We provide residential, commercial, and industrial concrete pumping services in the Sea-to-Sky Corridor. We are a local, family owned business. We are looking for an experienced concrete pump operator, but are willing to train and certify the right candidate. Applicants must be prepared to work on call, long hours without notice, and weekends when required. Safety, reliability, integrity, and customer service are our top priority.
Job description
A concrete pump operator is responsible for the safe operation of a concrete pump. Pump Operator duties are as follows:
- drive a concrete pump truck to and from construction sites located throughout the Sea-to-Sky Corridor and beyond.
- evaluate the site conditions and set-up the truck appropriately
- uses and cares for tools and equipment associated with and including the concrete pump and truck
- operates the boom and pump as required to place concrete in the desired locations
- loads and unloads concrete pump tools and attachments
- complies with safety regulations and precautionary measures while operating the concrete pump - protects self and others by following work safe procedures
- Conducts routine maintenance checks and fills out appropriate paperwork
- Various other duties (deliveries, material handling, etc.) to support other business divisions as required
- Communicate effectively, is flexible, and discusses and resolves issues
Position Requirements:
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid BC driver's license - Class 3 with Air brakes or Class 1 - clean driver record
- Must be mechanically inclined - basic mechanical knowledge/skills
- Ability to lift objects exceeding 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Must be detail oriented with attention to cleanliness and care of equipment
- Willingness to work flexible hours with varying start/finish times including Saturday shifts (at times required to work long hours without notice)
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Depth perception, hand-eye coordination and a keen awareness for your surroundings are mandatory
- Must use proper personal protective gear (steel-toe boots, hard hat). Gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, high visibility gear will be provided.
- Hold a valid pump operator certification (CCPO) through the BCCSA or be willing to get certified.
- Class 5 drivers license with air brake endorsement (line pump) or class 3 drivers license with air endorsement (boom pump)
Beneficial, but not required:
- Level 1 First Aid
- Concrete Pump Operator certifications
- Concrete Pumping experience
- Mountain Range driving experience
- Heavy Duty Mechanic background
- Class 3 License with Air Brakes

Salary:
Certified Boom Pump Operator: $43 per hour
Concrete Pump Operator Apprentice: $30 per hour.
$2000 annual incident free and performance bonus at Christmas.
