Assistant Restaurant Manager, Pasta Lupino, Whistler
Pasta Lupino has been a Whistler Village institution for over 26 years, handmade pasta, housemade sauces, and honest Italian comfort food made fresh every single day. We're growing, too: Caffè Lupino at Function Junction is about to be our second home and central production kitchen, expanding what Pasta Lupino offers across the Sea-to-Sky corridor. As we grow, we're building a leadership team to grow with us.
We're looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to help lead our Village restaurant day-to-day, working closely alongside our Restaurant Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role, you'll supervise and support the front-of-house team, keep service running smoothly, and deliver the warm, genuine guest experience Pasta Lupino is known for. You'll be on the floor yourself too, leading from the front, but your core focus is running the restaurant and the team.
This role is based in our Village restaurant. As you develop and grow with us, you'll gain exposure to our Caffè Lupino operation at Function Junction and valuable multi-unit operational experience, part of the path toward Restaurant Manager or operations roles.
Where this role leads
This is a genuine career path, not a holding pattern. Over the next 12 to 36 months, this role is built to progress: as we expand across the Sea-to-Sky corridor, you'll be first in line to step into Restaurant Manager or operations positions, gaining multi-unit operational experience along the way. We're hiring someone we can invest in and grow into a leader of the business.
What you'll do
- Lead and supervise the front-of-house team through service, setting the standard for guest experience
- Support the Restaurant Manager with day-to-day operations, scheduling, and floor management
- Run the restaurant and step up to lead it in the Restaurant Manager's absence
- Handle guest questions and concerns with warmth and professionalism
- Help train, support, and motivate the front-of-house team
- Work closely with the kitchen to keep service flowing smoothly on busy nights
- Uphold health, safety, and service standards at all times
What we're looking for
- Solid front-of-house/hospitality experience, ideally including some supervisory or lead experience
- Confident with POS systems, cash handling, and the day-to-day running of a floor
- Calm under pressure, reliable, and ready to lead by example
- Warm, guest-focused, and a genuine team player
- Someone who wants to build a career and grow with an expanding business
- Barista training an asset
- Serving It Right certification required before starting
What we offer
- $24–26/hour depending on experience, full-time salaried position
- Serving tips, our front-of-house team typically earns $1,200–$1,800 in tips per pay period (paid twice a month) on top of wage dependant on season, roughly $2,400–$3,600 a month
- A clear path to Restaurant Manager or operations roles as we grow
- Valuable multi-unit operational experience as you develop
- Extended health and dental benefits
- Whistler Blackcomb season pass, fully paid
- Staff meal and a drink every shift
- Meal swaps with other local Whistler businesses
- Staff discount on food and deli/grocery goodies
- Staff housing may be available for the right candidate
If you want to build a career with a growing business that looks after its team, we'd love to hear from you.
