Overview
Green PI Inc. is seeking to provide a Senior Knowledge-Based (KBE) Engineer for Doors and Fenders for its client. The role will support advanced automotive body engineering activities related to upper body shell, closures, doors, hoods, fenders, liftgates, and body structures. The selected candidate will apply Siemens NX parametric modeling, robust modeling, feature-based modeling, and Knowledge-Based Engineering methods to support vehicle packaging, functional integration, impact targets, NVH requirements, manufacturing feasibility, and cross-functional vehicle development activities.
Contract Term: This is a long-term contract position.
**Work Location: On-site at Windsor, ON with some travel to the US. The candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to cross the Canada-U.S. border for occasional business travel, , including possessing or being able to obtain any required travel documentation.**
Responsibilities
- Create CAD parametric math models for vehicle commodities using CATIA and/or Siemens NX.
- Apply Knowledge-Based Engineering template modeling techniques to support vehicle design and development.
- Develop, package, and synthesize complex vehicle systems within CAD environments.
- Define CAD model architecture, construction techniques, and master template modeling structures.
- Create master development, packaging, and requirement sections.
- Work on closures systems and/or body shell systems.
- Coordinate with multiple engineering teams, including: PDO / Styling teams; Stamping simulation teams; Advanced Manufacturing Engineering teams; CAE teams
- Support vehicle development activities related to: Vehicle packaging; Functional integration; Impact targets; NVH requirements; Manufacturing feasibility.
- Train other CATIA/NX engineers on modeling techniques, architecture, and KBE template modeling practices.
Qualifications
The potential candidate must possess the following:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to cross the Canada-U.S. border for occasional business travel, including possessing or being able to obtain any required travel documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Automotive body engineering experience, preferably involving upper body shell, closures, body structures, or body sheet metal design.
- Hands-on Siemens NX CAD modeling experience.
- Strong parametric modeling knowledge in Siemens NX.
- Experience with robust modeling and feature-based modeling methodologies.
- Ability to work on closures systems and/or body shell systems, including doors, hoods, fenders, liftgates, or related body structures.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple engineering teams, including PDO / Styling, stamping simulation, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, CAE, and other cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of vehicle development considerations, including vehicle packaging, functional integration, impact targets, NVH requirements, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Experience coordinating with FEA / CAE teams; direct FEA execution is not required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative engineering team.
- Self-starter capable of following established automotive body engineering standards.
- Willingness to complete internal NX training courses, including Robust Modeling fundamentals.
- Ability to work on-site at ARDC and travel to CTC as required.
In addition to the requirements above, the following are considered assets:
- Strong body sheet metal design background.
- Experience in advanced vehicle engineering or studio engineering environments.
- Prior OEM or Tier 1 automotive body engineering experience.
- CATIA experience.
- A few years of CAD modeling experience with demonstrated parametric and robust modeling exposure.
- Experience working within a collaborative body shell engineering team.

Pay: $41.58/hr CAD
