Rehab First Inc. is currently seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in the Windsor/Chatham region(s) to support our growing client base through community-based service delivery. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
Rehab First is one of Ontario's largest multidisciplinary assessment and treatment organizations, with a growing team of approximately 120 professionals specializing in a variety of disciplines. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement rehabilitation programs with the client as directed by the Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist
- Provide one-on-one therapeutic support with clients
- Promote independence of the client in the home, community, and at work to support re-integration
- Facilitate a smooth transition into school or work activities
- Facilitate and supervise activities of daily living as directed
- Facilitate and implement educational and vocational re-integration as directed
- Facilitate and implement cognitive therapy programs as directed
- Promote and implement leisure activities as directed
- Implement exercise programs or group exercise classes as directed
- Function as an integral component of an interdisciplinary team
- Work under minimal supervision accepting responsibility and accountability as assigned
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a recognized OTA/PTA College program
- Preferred 1 year of experience working as an OTA/PTA with ABI, TBI and clients with complex diagnoses
- Experience with head trauma and brain injury is an asset
- Valid CPR certification
- Valid G driver's license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within the last 6 months prior to hire date)
- Superior communication, problem-solving, time-management and documentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
