Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Placement and Career Services Coordinator responsible for all placement and career-services activities, beginning when students become eligible to prepare for placement and continuing through placement completion and employment follow-up.

Responsibilities

1. Employer Relations and Development

Support College leadership in developing and maintaining relationships with employers across industries relevant to the College’s programs.
Research and identify potential employer organizations and contacts to expand placement and employment opportunities.
Act as the daily point of contact for placement coordination, employer inquiries and routine issues under the oversight of the Campus Manager.
Conduct regular employer check-ins and communicate significant updates, concerns or developments to the Campus Manager.
Coordinate employer documentation and agreements for management review and approval.
Assist in addressing employer concerns and escalate significant or unresolved issues appropriately.
Represent the College professionally when engaging with employers and external stakeholders.
Ensure that commitments affecting employer relationships are reviewed and approved by College management.

2. Placement Preparation and Matching

Identify students approaching placement eligibility.
Confirm that students have completed the required academic, administrative and placement prerequisites.
Conduct placement orientations and explain workplace expectations, attendance requirements and documentation.
Match students with employers based on program requirements, skills, location, availability and employer needs.
Confirm placement schedules, start dates and responsibilities with students and employers.
Coordinate required agreements, insurance documents and supporting placement documentation.
Maintain overall responsibility for ensuring eligible students are not missed or unnecessarily delayed.

3. Placement Monitoring and Problem Resolution

Monitor student attendance, hours, progress, evaluations and performance throughout placement.
Maintain regular communication with students and employers.
Address attendance concerns, performance issues, placement cancellations and employer dissatisfaction.
Mediate routine concerns between students and employers.
Arrange alternative placements when appropriate.
Escalate serious, unresolved or high-risk matters to the Campus Manager.
Coordinate with Student Services when a placement issue is connected to an academic, behavioural or personal student concern.

4. Career and Employment Services

Provide résumé, cover-letter, interview and job-search support.
Coordinate career workshops, employer information sessions and recruitment activities.
Share appropriate employment opportunities with students and graduates.
Connect qualified graduates with employers when possible.
Follow up with graduates regarding employment status.

5. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate employer, placement, evaluation and employment records.
Ensure placement agreements, insurance documents, hours and evaluations are complete and current.
Prepare reports on placement readiness, placement status, outstanding requirements, employer capacity and employment outcomes.
Maintain organized documentation for audits, accreditation reviews and regulatory reporting.
Confirm placement completion before students are cleared for graduation.

Qualifications

A post-secondary diploma or degree in career development, human resources, business administration, education, social services or a related field.
Experience in placement coordination, employer relations, career services, recruitment or student services is preferred.
Strong employer-development, communication and relationship-building skills.
Excellent organization, documentation, follow-up and time-management abilities.
Ability to manage several placements and employer relationships simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn student-information systems.
Commitment to student success, employer satisfaction and positive employment outcomes.

Additional Requirements

Access to a reliable vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s licence for employer visits, meetings and external events.
Ability to attend occasional activities outside regular working hours.
Other duties as assigned by CCHST management.

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
