Little Cubs is excited to be opening a new location in Teeswater in September 2026. We are currently hiring team members for our Before & After School program. Training and onboarding will be provided at our Port Elgin location throughout July and August.
Program Hours:
- 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM
- 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
This position follows a split-shift schedule.
Our centre is a Reggio Emilia–inspired environment grounded in Ontario’s pedagogy How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH) and aligned with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ontario Ministry of Education requirements, and best practices in early childhood education.

What You’ll Do
As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant / Before & After School Educator, you will:
- Support the implementation of engaging, child-centered programs
- Foster positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Supervise and engage children in play-based learning experiences
- Support children’s social-emotional development using responsive and positive approaches
- Assist with program planning, documentation, and classroom organization
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, and centre policies
- Work collaboratively with educators and leadership team members
Qualifications & Attributes

- Have experience working with children in a childcare, recreation, camp, educational, or community setting
- Are passionate about supporting children’s growth and development

Compensation
Non-RECE: $19.20 – $22.00 per hour
RECE: $25.86 – $27.86 per hour (including applicable government wage grants)
Compensation is based on qualifications, experience, and role responsibilities.
