Role Description and Qualifications

Structural Engineer, licensed in the province of Ontario, with minimum ten (10) years work experience with a portfolio demonstrating advanced knowledge of structural building design, including wood-frame construction, site-cast concrete, structural steel, ICF and precast concrete construction.
Experience using Revit software and experience with heritage restoration work is an asset.
Good communicator - precise, concise, with exceptional English language skills (oral and written).
Self-motivated and ambitious with the ability to work independently.
Organized, with the skill to manage time, deliverables, budgets and personnel.
A full understanding of structural engineering, construction materials, construction methods, the Ontario Building Code & is willing to complete drafting of designs using Revit software.
We are looking to create a unique position for a structural engineer that would not only involve the structural design of our diverse projects, but could also entail detailed drawing production (both architectural and structural), site visits, general reviews, client interaction and proposal writing. We are a small firm and all staff participate in all phases of our projects.
Capable of representing the firm with Client and Contractor interaction, managing the production and delivery of architectural and structural projects and an ability to work within a team environment and manage a project team composed of multiple subconsultants.
Valid driver’s license and ability to attend site visits and meetings.
Ability to obtain security clearances for institutional projects; Police Check, OPP (Level 2) Clearance, and Ontario Public Service (OPS) Clearance.
Must have a valid Canadian work authorization (Canadian Citizens, permanent residents, and valid work permits only).
Working in person from the office is a requirement and no remote work options are available for the first 2 years of employment.
