- Family physician with experience in education and teaching
- Interest and/or experience in assessment of IMG learners
- Holds an MD degree, CFPC certification required
- CPSM licensed Physician (or eligible)
- Current faculty appointment Department of Family Medicine
- Eligible for an appointment with Department of Family Medicine at University of Manitoba
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, leadership ability, effective advocacy skills
- Oversees selection and assessment process for Family Medicine IMG programs (MLPIMG, PRA MB-FP) including selection criteria, policy development and evaluation.
- Oversees development and evaluation of academic, clinical and orientation curricula for IMG programs, including oversight of educational program objectives, competencies and assessment including MLPIMG, PRA MB-FP and IMG Mentorship program.
- Develops, oversees and evaluates appeal processes and policies in coordination with Family Medicine, PGME, and other Max Rady College of Medicine guidelines and policies.
- Works collaboratively with other Family Medicine programs to identify opportunities for collaboration and integration.

Faculty Development:
- Leads identification and assessment of faculty development needs for teachers/clinical faculty specific to IMG learners
- Works collaboratively with other partners, such as ISME, to develop faculty development content specific for faculty teaching IMG learners
- Works collaboratively with other Family Medicine programs and faculty to identify opportunities for integrated faculty development delivery
- Collaborates in the recruitment of distributed clinical and academic faculty to meet IMG program needs
Program Operations:
- Oversees and leads the operation of MLPIMG, PRA-FM and Mentorship program
- Leads and supports the Training Program Director (MLPIMG), PRA-FM Program Director and Mentorship Program Director
- Recruits clinical rotation sites and works collaboratively with Family Medicine Associate Department Head Distributed Education and other Family Medicine programs to strategically plan and recruit clinical partner and community teaching sites
- Collaboration with sponsoring Regional Health Authorities, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, Shared Health, Manitoba Health, Health Care Retention and Recruitment Office
- Initiates collaborative research in areas relevant to education of IMG learners
- Leads outcomes research and evaluation of IMG program
Scholarly Activity:
- Sets an example for others by actively trying to increase medical knowledge or enhance medical education by engaging in research and other scholarly activities
- Develops a supportive milieu for unit faculty, residents and other learners to pursue research activities consistent with their level of expertise
- Time required to fulfill the duties related to this position is 0.35 EFT (14 hours per week)
