Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Sous Chef plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional dining experience by executing each dish with precision, consistency, and efficiency in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen. Success in this role requires strong technical skill, organization, and the ability to remain composed under pressure while maintaining uncompromising standards.
Food Preparation & Execution
- Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes, plating standards, and portion specifications
- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across every service
- Ensure all mise en place is completed accurately and efficiently before service
- Properly prepare proteins, sauces, vegetables, starches, and garnishes to meet culinary standards
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety and quality
Service & Team Collaboration
- Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining attention to detail
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with chefs and fellow line cooks
- Respond quickly and professionally to direction from the Chef or Sous Chef
- Support other stations as needed to ensure smooth service flow
- Maintain composure and professionalism during peak periods
Kitchen Organization & Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation at all times
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Inventory & Cost Awareness
- Monitor station inventory and communicate shortages promptly
- Minimize waste through careful preparation and proper storage
- Respect product integrity and portion control standards

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Experience:
- Minimum cooking: 2 years in a restaurant environment.
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
