Position Title: Recreation Hub Attendant
Reports to: Supervisor – Coordinator, Community Recreation
Salary Range: $19.25/hour
Dates: September 1st, 2026, to October 31st, 2026 - 8 weeks up to 20 hours
Position Summary:
Working under the direction of the Coordinator, Community Recreation, the Recreation Hub Attendant will facilitate the Town's free bike/e-bike loan program from the Recreation Hub. This individual will primarily support the promotion of cycling and active transportation through a barrier-reduced equipment loan program. The role requires a highly motivated individual who can demonstrate a commitment to cycling advocacy, has the ability to work positively with the public, is self-motivated and can work independently. In this role, you will support individuals via our online loan system as well as in-person. The Recreation Hub Attendant will also connect with community partners, communicate with Wolfville residents, and be prepared to handle emergencies. The Recreation Hub Attendant will be the main contact for equipment loan inquiries for members of the public and provide supportive education and aid around cycling, maintenance, active transportation, tourism, and recreation opportunities. This role includes public engagement, consultation with local experts and other partners, coordination with community organizations and other related duties.
Core Expectations of the Role:
- Serve as a representative of the Town overall as well as the Parks and Recreation Department in all interactions with members of the public, community groups, and partners.
- Exceed public expectations in offering a comprehensible equipment loan program.
- Ensure that all loanees are comfortable, safe, and alert before, during, and after their loans.
- Coordinate with community partners to offer equipment loan experiences.
- Appropriately respond to requests and communication from the public and complete the required paperwork.
Day to Day expectations of the role:
- Communicate and check-in with supervisors before, throughout and after shifts.
- Work in a positive manner with the public and our community partners to offer exciting equipment loan experiences.
- Lead the daily administrative tasks associated with managing an equipment loan program, including consistent communication with users.
- Complete regular maintenance on the equipment to ensure equipment is safe and ready for use.
Additions:
- Perform other, related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Completed First Aid – Level C training.
- Minimum qualifications include:
- Willingness to learn and improve skills and knowledge related to your role.
- Experience in cycling.
- Ability to communicate in a positive manner to the public while providing a service that includes giving directions and tourism locations to locals and visitors.
Skill/Knowledge:
- Ability to adapt and respond to situations promptly.
- Excellent time management and ability to develop and manage priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercise significant courtesy, tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to adhere to all Municipal and Provincial Occupational Health and Safety policies, Town of Wolfville policies governing employment and standard operating procedures.
General Capabilities:

- This position requires some weekend work.
