Position Information:
MDRD/Endoscopy Aides are responsible for the collection, decontamination, processing, sterilizing, storing and distributing of sterile supplies, instruments, endoscopes and patient care items for use throughout the hospital.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Responsible for work in all areas of department, decontamination, assembly and wrapping, case picking, collection and delivery of instruments from floors.
2. Responsible for quality assurance recording when working in autoclave area.
3. Answer and respond to phone calls as required.
4. Pick items for OR cases according.
Qualifications:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Completion of the MDRAO Techniques Course or college Sterile Techniques course mandatory
- Experience in Aseptic Techniques and Universal Precautions
- Experience in MDRD/Endoscopy Preferred
- Strong Organization Skills and Attention to Detail
- Ability to Work Efficiently and Effectively
- Communicate effectively with Other Hospital Departments
- Ability and Desire to Work as a Team Player
- Ability to Prioritize, Organize, Perform and Complete Responsibilities in a Self-Directed Manner
- Must be physically able to perform the normal duties of the job
- Satisfactory vulnerable person’s sector criminal background check.
- Internal candidates must have satisfactory attendance and performance appraisal in current position.
- Documented commitment to continuing education through inservice, staff meetings and self-motivated learning.
- Reliable and punctual
- Excellent verbal and written communication and customer relation skills.

Salary Range: $31.55/hr - $33.09/hr
