Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Kennel Manager to oversee daily operations at our animal care facility. The ideal candidate will ensure the well-being of our animals, maintain a clean and safe environment, and provide exceptional customer service to pet owners. This role requires a responsible individual with strong leadership skills and a strong knowledge of dog care and dog first aid.

Duties

Supervise daily kennel operations, including feeding, cleaning, and exercising animals
Manage staff schedules and delegate tasks effectively
Ensure all animals are cared for according to established protocols
Assess dog injuries and treat appropriately on site and know when to contact vet.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards within the facility
Handle customer inquiries, provide information about pet care, and address concerns professionally
Oversee inventory of supplies and order as needed
Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or equipment to support kennel maintenance
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling procedures
Monitor general health and behavior of dogs on site and coordinate veterinary care when necessary

Skills

Pet First Aid
Previous experience working in a kennel environment or veterinary office.
Excellent customer service skills to interact with pet owners and visitors effectively
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, including lifting supplies or equipment up to 50 pounds
Strong organizational skills to manage daily operations and staff schedules
Compassionate attitude toward animals and pet owners
Leadership qualities to motivate staff and ensure team efficiency
Good communication skills for clear instructions and professional interactions
Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness, safety standards, and animal health records
