What you’ll do

Plan, organize, and support daily transportation operations to ensure smooth service delivery
Work closely with the General Manager and team to maintain high service standards
Supervise drivers and support staff during assigned shifts
Assist with dispatch, scheduling, and real-time operational adjustments
Ensure all routes operate on time and meet service requirements
Promote and enforce safety procedures and company policies
Provide on-the-ground support and guidance to drivers
Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and follow-ups
Monitor service performance and identify areas for improvement
Maintain clear communication with internal teams and external partners
Support onboarding and training of new employees
Assist in organizing team meetings, safety briefings, and operational updates
Prepare and maintain reports, logs, and operational records
Help manage workforce coverage, including shift changes and absences
Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational planning
Maintain a professional, safe, and team-oriented work environment
Assist with additional responsibilities or projects as requested

What you bring

Experience in transit operations or a related field
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to lead, support, and guide a team
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Teams, along with general computer systems
Ability to manage operational challenges and make timely decisions
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safety, compliance, and service excellence

Your location & schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Yellowknife, NT, supporting daily transit and school bus operations.
The regular schedule for this role is:
Monday to Friday: 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
This schedule may vary depending on operational requirements and workflow. Flexibility is required to ensure service coverage, assist with dispatch, support drivers, and respond to real-time operational needs across both transit and school services.
