General Scope
Selkirk Copper is seeking a motivated and skilled Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) to act as the lead medical responder at the Minto Mine Site in the Yukon Territory. Reporting to the Manager, Health & Safety, this position is responsible for delivering pre-hospital emergency medical care and supporting all health and safety activities in accordance with Selkirk Copper policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role is a key safety champion – promoting a proactive safety culture across all site operations and serving as a key component of onsite emergency response.
Medical / Paramedic Duties
- Serve as the primary medical responder for all on-site medical emergencies, illnesses, and injuries.
- Provide advanced pre-hospital emergency care consistent with paramedic scope of practice.
- Maintain and manage the site medical clinic, including inventory of medical supplies, medications, and equipment.
- Conduct daily sick call and provide occupational health support to site personnel.
- Coordinate medical evacuations (medevac) as required, liaising with air services and receiving facilities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient care records and medical documentation.
- Develop and deliver first aid and emergency response training to site personnel.
- Collaborate with occupational health professionals to manage fit-for-duty assessments and return-to-work programs.
- Maintain all required certifications.
- Other duties as required by the Health & Safety Manager.
Emergency Mine Rescue Team
- Experience and certification in mine rescue is a strong asset.
Qualifications & Experience
- · Current Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) designation or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP), licensed in the Yukon or eligible and willing to obtain Yukon registration.
- Minimum 3–5 years of paramedic experience; remote or industrial/occupational health experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in mine rescue is a strong asset.
- Certification to deliver first aid training is a strong asset.
- Occupational Health & Safety certificate, diploma, or degree is a strong asset.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or working towards designation is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of Yukon OHS legislation and applicable federal regulations is an asset.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently under minimal supervision in a remote environment.
- Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online safety software (e.g., SiteDocs or similar).
- Previous experience working in a remote camp setting is an asset.
- Ability to work in remote terrain, uneven surfaces, and all-weather conditions.

Pay: $42.00-$45.00 per hour
