PURPOSE:
Sky Eye Measurement Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Equipment Operator to join our operations team. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and specialized equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operation of Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate a range of machinery and equipment, including but not limited to telehandlers, forklifts, man lifts and overhead cranes.
Maintenance & Inspection: Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns. Troubleshoot and report any mechanical issues.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols related to equipment operation. Ensure equipment is operated in a safe manner and in accordance with Sky Eye Measurement’s safety standards and government regulations.
Operational Efficiency: Work with the team to optimize work processes and ensure all equipment is used efficiently to meet deadlines and client expectations.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any issues encountered. Provide reports on operational activities and any incidents that arise.
Collaboration with Teams: Work alongside shop supervisors and shipping and receiving staff. Communicate any challenges or needs related to equipment or operations.
Training & Development: Participate in training programs to enhance skills, including the operation of new technologies or equipment introduced by Sky Eye Measurement Inc.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certification in equipment operation or related field is a plus

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of safety procedures and best practices in equipment operation.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Attention to detail with an emphasis on operational efficiency.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills for reporting and collaboration with other departments.
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and sometimes challenging environments.
Physical stamina to operate equipment and perform necessary fieldwork.
Previous experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to adverse weather conditions.
Comfortable working at heights when operating aerial equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Field-based position with some time spent in an office or workshop environment.
Work may require travel to remote job sites.
Flexibility in hours may be needed depending on project deadlines and operational requirements.
