Role Overview

The Regulatory, Legislative and Tax Compliance Services Team assists clients across jurisdictions in managing operational, financial and technology risk as well as designing and implementing process improvements that can lead to increased value, revenue, or cost containment through core solution offering.
The incumbent’s primary focus is to analyze, interpret and implement regulatory requirements across various business functions to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leas working groups, and develop strategies to address potentials risks, while also identifying new opportunities for product development and business improvements.

Role Responsibilities

Review, analyze, and evaluate regulations in relation to our products and business processes, conducting gap analysis to address client jurisdiction impacts and propose core offerings.
Interpret and assess local regulatory bulletins and policy updates, providing recommendations to internal stakeholders, working groups, and partners.
Identify opportunities for new products, technologies, and business models, preparing proposals and business cases to ensure compliance with regulations.
Conduct risk and impact assessments, define requirements, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement controls that mitigate risks.
Document regulatory impacts on complex changes, including intake documentation for operational procedures and resources.
Lead working group sessions and maintain relevant documentation.
Manage client expectations and negotiate client-funded changes, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Perform SWOT analysis and serve as subject matter expert and Product Owner to ensure delivery teams meet regulatory standards and business goals.
Participate in project planning and initiation, guiding projects from ideation to delivery.
Conduct analysis to identify the best path for resolving issues, with a focus on process improvement, system enhancements, and user training.
Maintain work streams and create user documentation aligned with departmental standards.
Develop training materials for internal teams and clients, contributing inputs to marketing.
Ensure full traceability of system and procedural changes to regulations, maintaining compliance across the client base.

Minimum Qualifications

Critical Skills

5–10 years' experience interpreting legislative documents (e.g., CRA, IRS, FATCA) and translating them into business terms for financial clients.
At least 5 years of progressive experience in the Financial Services Industry.
Ability to manage work plans, represent clients in regulatory matters, and negotiate with regulators.
Experience conducting SWOT analyses and liaising with industry contacts.
Strong attention to detail with proven ability to manage timelines and budgets.
Expertise as a subject matter expert on industry standards and regulations, backed by continuous research.
Highly effective in oral and written communication, negotiation, and influence on complex regulatory issues.
Ability to manage multiple clients and maintain strong customer relationships.
Advanced analytical skills for processing complex regulatory information and determining necessary actions.
Excellent facilitation, negotiation, and collaboration skills with teams and executives.
Experience with Industry Working Groups and establishing Best Practices.
In-depth knowledge of Record Keeping Systems, financial services, and Transfer Agency operations.
Results-driven with a strong commitment to high individual and organizational performance.
