Hello Candidates,
Before we schedule a phone interview, I’d like to provide an overview of the nursing roles available across several specialty units to help you determine if this opportunity is a good fit. If it sounds like a match, we’ll connect for further discussion.
Available Positions:
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
- Med-Surg (Medical-Surgical)
- Pediatric Unit
These positions offer opportunities to work with complex patients in high-acuity settings, where the focus is on delivering critical care, recovery, and preparing patients for various stages of rehabilitation.
Critical Illness Recovery:
Our patients typically have high acuity, requiring a minimum of a 3-night stay in the ICU before being admitted to our facility. We prepare patients for rehab, skilled nursing, home care, or palliative care. Some of the conditions we treat include:
- Strokes, TBI, Spinal Cord Injuries, Trauma
- Respiratory & Cardiac Failure, Surgical Complications
- Non-healing Wounds, Cardiogenic Shock, Bowel Obstructions
- Extended hospital stays (average 4-6 weeks)
Acuity Levels: Includes critical patients on vents with vasoactive drips and less acute patients on IV antibiotics.
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 4-5:1 for typical cases, 2-3:1 for high acuity.
ICU (Intensive Care Unit):
In the ICU, you’ll work with critically ill patients, many of whom are on life support, requiring intensive monitoring, medication management, and specialized care. Key areas include:
- Ventilator management
- Hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive drips (e.g., Levophed, Dopamine)
- Advanced cardiac care, trauma care, and post-surgical recovery
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Typically 2-3:1 for high-acuity patients.

- Monitoring and managing post-operative recovery
- Administering medications and treatments
- Coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team
- Managing a variety of patient conditions, from infections to chronic illnesses
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 4-6:1 depending on acuity.

- Acute illness management, respiratory support, and trauma care
- Developmentally appropriate interventions and pain management
- Collaboration with pediatric specialists and family education
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Typically 3-4:1 for stable pediatric patients.
