Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Bakery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bakery. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for cake decorating, ensuring that our team delivers high-quality baked goods while maintaining an efficient and productive work environment. This role requires a combination of culinary expertise, team management, and restaurant management experience.

Duties

Supervise and lead the bakery team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and creativity.
Oversee food preparation processes to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock for production.
Train and mentor staff in baking techniques, kitchen safety, and sanitation practices.
Conduct interviews for new team members, ensuring that the hiring process aligns with our bakery’s values and standards.
Implement effective scheduling to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours while managing labor costs.
Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to meet demands without compromising quality.
Liaise with suppliers and vendors when they visit the store.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen area, adhering to health regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a bakery or restaurant setting.
Strong leadership skills with a track record of successful team management.
Experience in supervising staff and fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
Knowledge of restaurant management practices, including inventory control and cost management.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and customers.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Passion for baking and an eagerness to help others develop their culinary skills.
