Full job description

Essential Position Functions:

Loading/offloading of aircrafts and trucks
Operating ground support equipment
Repeated and continuous lifting of packages up to 60lbs
Sort package based on customer, airport destination, and other parameters
Handle customer packages and freight with due care and attention
Ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to
Communicate piece counts, and package information to Lead Hands and Supervisors
Perform tasks associated with Dangerous Good Handling
Meet time sensitive deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team dynamic
Learn and apply specific training modules required for the position (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention, etc.)
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
Working in and around aircraft daily
Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Graduate or equivalent experience
Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence or equivalent
Ability to obtain a RAIC pass (Transport Canada Security Clearance)
Ability to lift to 60lbs repeatedly
Ability to work within a “team first” environment, and complete common goals within time sensitive deadlines
Excellent punctuality, and attendance habits
Ability to learn quickly, and adapt to fast-changing customer requirements
Willingness to take direction with a keen interest in further development within the Calgary operation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Flexible to work shift work, weekends and stat holidays
Be willing to be subject to a background check; clearance is required
Be willing to work outside
