$3000.00 Signing Bonus After 9-Months

As a 309-A Electrician and Site Supervisor (foreman), you manage complex projects, supervise crews of over five to thirty people, and oversee projects exceeding 2000 hours. This role is ideal for a candidate who excels in handling multi-phased ICI (Industrial Commercial Institutional) projects with escalated schedules, requiring large crews, involving complex electrical systems, or any combination of these.

You must be a strong communicator as you must represent Kraun professionally in all site interactions, including meetings, conversations and written reports such as daily journals & RFI's. You must be well-organized and goal-oriented and have extensive electrical knowledge in the ICI sectors (Industrial Commercial Institutional),

You can expect to work on projects such as retirement facilities, nursing homes, multi-floor condominium buildings, factories, and schools.

Role and Responsibilities

Always represent Kraun with professionalism and consistently demonstrate SPARK values
Install wiring, conduits, raceways, cables, light fixtures, switches, receptacles, smoke detectors, brackets, boxes and other electrical components
Install & energize equipment related to power distribution, such as panels, circuits, transformers, relays, etc.
Install life safety systems, including fire alarms, nurse calls, emergency lighting and generators
Connect electrical power to various devices and systems, including mechanical systems, alarm systems, etc.
Diagnose/Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and develop/implement practical solutions
Ensure all installations are in compliance with Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) codes and building codes
Install according to project documentation such as specifications, contracts and written scopes of work
Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
Test continuity of circuits to ensure safety and correct installation
Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of company-provided tools and equipment, ensuring they are organized and stored securely to maximize efficiency and minimize loss or theft
Comply with all company policies, including no performing electrical work outside of Kraun Electric and your personal residence per payroll files
Complete daily journals
Lead a team of electricians & apprentices, providing training and guidance to ensure high-quality installations and personal development
Lead and enforce safety protocols and best practices through safety talks, site inspections, hazard analysis, and other documentation & communications
Drive project success by being well-organized and goal-oriented
Collaborate closely with project managers, team leads, engineers, owners, and other stakeholders to meet project objectives
Conduct regular quality control checks to uphold our commitment to excellence
Foster a positive work environment where team members feel safe productive, and that they matter
Supervise sub-contractors
Ensure resources (labour, material, equipment, etc.) are adequate
Supervise the use of machinery and equipment to ensure safe and proper utilization. Report any maintenance or repair requirements.
Supervise attendance & performance. Address concerns promptly, utilizing appropriate documentation.
Supervise overall organization of tools, equipment & materials to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal loss.
Complete reports and submissions in a timely fashion with appropriate details (e.g. billing details, time cards, daily logs, safety documentation)
Build and maintain effective relationships with various parties such as inspectors, owners, other trades
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

309-A Electrician (Construction & Maintenance) License in Good Standing with Skilled Trades Ontario
Ontario G License in Good Standing - must provide a clean 3-year Drivers' Abstract
Must pass a background screening, which includes reference checks and the provision of a clean criminal reference check

Preferred Skills

Proven experience as an electrician in new & existing industrial, commercial and/or institutional sectors
Minimum two years of experience as an electrical site supervisor
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems such as power distribution, fire alarm, generators, control lighting
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent knowledge and comprehension of Electrical Safety Authority code, building code, and other related codes
Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and best practices
Excellent critical thinking and solution-oriented
Able to work well on a team
Able to work within a schedule-driven environment, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines
Able to communicate and report effectively in English, both verbal and written
Well-organized & reliable
Goal-oriented and able to adapt
Able to read electrical drawings, specifications and related equipment instruction manuals
Excellent leadership skills
Able to quickly learn and use software programs and related technology (e.g. computers, tablets)

Working Environment & Physical Demands

Working conditions include but are not limited to:

Outdoor Work: You will be required to work outdoors, where you will be exposed to various weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.
Height: The job will involve working at heights, such as climbing ladders and scaffolds or working on elevated platforms.
Confined Spaces: You will need to work in tight and confined spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, or utility tunnels.
Lifting and Carrying: The position will require lifting, carrying, and pulling heavy items and equipment weighing more than 50 pounds, such as conduit, wiring, tools, and machinery.
Uneven Terrain: Electricians may need to navigate and work on uneven terrain, including construction sites, unfinished buildings, and outdoor landscapes.
Physical Demands: The job involves physical exertion and stamina to perform tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking flights of stairs for extended periods.
Noise and Vibrations: The work environment will involve exposure to loud noises from machinery and equipment and vibrations from power tools and heavy machinery.
Safety Gear: Compliance with safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots is mandatory.
Flexible Schedule: Depending on project deadlines and client requirements, the job may require working evenings, weekends, or overtime.
Teamwork: Collaboration with other individuals, including team members, contractors, and project managers, is essential and requires effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Travel: Some projects may require travel to different job sites, which may involve longer drives.
Physical Fitness: Good physical health and fitness are necessary to perform job duties safely and effectively.
Adherence to Regulations: Compliance with local building codes, electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards is mandatory.
