Asphalt Screed Operator

Join our Team and gear up for an exciting career!

DeFord Contracting Inc. is looking for an experienced and hardworking Asphalt Screed Operator for Civil Construction city projects in and around the Greater Edmonton Area.

Responsibilities:

Safely operate the asphalt screed and/or paver according to directions from the Supervisor or Superintendent.
Make real-time adjustments to screed or paving equipment to achieve required depth, grade, and surface finish.
Work effectively in tight or constrained areas with precision and without compromising safety.
Collaborate with paving crew to coordinate procedures, sequencing, and best practices on-site.
Conduct daily safety inspections and basic maintenance of equipment before and after use.
Follow all company safety policies, industry standards, and project-specific protocols.
Assist with other related tasks and duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Superintendent.

Qualifications:

2+ years’ experience operating Screed.
3+ years’ experience in Road construction/Paving - experience working in civil construction is considered an asset.
Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License; Class 3 considered an asset
Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision
Knowledge of Paving materials, and Paving processes and industry requirements
