WHO YOU ARE

As a passionate and energetic CPA candidate, you thrive on building relationships and are highly comfortable communicating across all levels of internal management and external stakeholders. You have a solid foundation of work experience in contract billing, accounts receivable, and/or general accounting experience under your belt, and you're looking for a dynamic, 100% on-site role where you can expand your responsibilities and have a clear career path. You are open to change, excited by process improvements, and eager to continue to develop general accounting skills while actively owning our AR and billing process.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

AR & Contract Billing (60% of time)
- Manage progress billing accurately and efficiently according to specific customer contracts.
- Actively monitor accounts receivable and provide detailed, following up via phone and email in order to ensure timely collections.
- Provide weekly status updates on outstanding collections.
- Serve as a key point of contact, comfortably communicating with internal management, clients, and vendors to resolve billing and collection inquiries.
General Accounting (30% of time)
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries to maintain accurate general ledger accounts in compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and credit cards; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Supporting both quarterly filings and year-end tax returns.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation of adjusting entries and financial schedules.
- Provide documentation and clear explanations to internal and external auditors during financial audits.

Special Projects (10% of time)
- Assist senior management with ad hoc research, financial presentations, and initiatives to streamline accounting processes.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

A minimum of 2 years of relevant Contract Billing/Accounts Receivable experience, preferably within the construction industry.
Currently pursuing a CPA designation.
Proven experience and a strong comfort level managing internal and external relationships.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong proficiency with MS Excel and accounting software - experience with Jonas Construction software is highly preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong analytical mindset.
