Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation and food safety, with experience in serving and cooking in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop your skills in the food industry while contributing to a welcoming dining experience for our guests. The Prep Cook will assist in meal preparation, ensure food handling standards are met, and support the kitchen team in delivering high-quality dishes.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing ingredients and components for menu items, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients
Support the cooking team by preparing basic dishes and assembling ingredients as directed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep station and kitchen area according to food safety standards
Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in meal presentation
Handle food safely, adhering to proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of low supplies
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during busy hours

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service is preferred, especially within a restaurant or food industry setting
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and kitchen operations
Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards serving customers
Basic knowledge of serving, food industry standards, and kitchen experience is advantageous
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
