Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our accounting firm in Mississauga.
The ideal candidate will manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and reporting. This position requires a thorough understanding of accounting practices, client management, and the ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines. You will play a key role in supporting the firm's clients with their day-to-day accounting needs, including payroll processing, tax filings, and financial statement preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, including small businesses and corporations
- Prepare and maintain general ledgers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Process client payrolls, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements reports for clients
- Handle monthly and year-end close processes for multiple clients
- Reconcile accounts, including bank and credit card statements
- Prepare and file HST/GST returns, WSIB reports, and other regulatory filings
- Liaise with clients, tax authorities, and internal accounting team as needed

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal procedures
- Provide clients with financial analysis and recommendations as needed
- Assist the firm’s accountants with year-end audits and tax preparation
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a full charge bookkeeper, preferably within an accounting firm
- Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar
- Experience with payroll processing, including government remittances and reporting
- Familiarity with Canadian accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A college diploma in Bookkeeping/Accounting or a related field is preferred
- Certification as a bookkeeper (CPB, or similar) is an asset
