Compensation: $20-23/hour (depending on experience)

Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe role includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:

– Setting up and stocking stations with necessary supplies– Preparing ingredients for service, such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces– Handling various food items, including meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables, using kitchen tools like knives, mixers, blenders, food processors, and scales– Cooking prepared foods using ovens, stoves, griddles, and broilers to meet chef and guest specifications– Properly garnishing each dish– Following directions from the executive or sous chef– Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation, including tables, shelves, grills, burners, ovens, and refrigeration equipment during and after service– Stocking inventory appropriately– Ensuring that food is served simultaneously with consistent quality and timely execution– Upholding responsibility for the quality, food safety, sanitation, and timeliness of dishes served– Maintaining a positive and professional attitude toward coworkers and customers– Performing other duties as assigned by management

Required Experience– Professional and personable with exceptional guest relations skills– At least 3 years of experience in high-volume food production or catering roles– Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and professional cooking equipment– Strong understanding of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures– Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Required Skills– Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure– Solutions-focused, detail-oriented, and professional– Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment– High energy, personable, and a team-oriented collaborator– Passionate about food, restaurants, and customer service– Computer literate and comfortable operating PCs and POS systems– Proficient in Google Apps, Skype, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Work Environment– The kitchen environment can be loud and busy– Potential hazards include hot surfaces, liquids, sharp knives, and slippery floors– Long hours and weekend shifts are regularly required

Physical Demands– The role requires standing for extended periods (up to 12 hours), as well as walking, bending, stooping, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crawling– The position requires good sensory skills including taste, smell, touch, and vision (both close and distance vision)– Frequent use of hands and fingers for tasks such as stirring, cutting, and dicing– Lifting up to 20 lbs. regularly, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
