Position: Health & Safety Instructor
Employment: Part-time Weekends (8 - 16 Hours/Week)
Location: Mississauga, Burlington, GTA locations
Salary: $31.00 - 33.65 per hour
Worksite Safety Compliance Centre is expanding its instructor-led training team, specifically for the CPO-approved Working at Heights program. There is an opportunity for this instructor to also train on mobile equipment use (forklift and elevated work platforms) and/or confined space entry. If you are a knowledgeable and experienced health and safety instructor who is passionate about construction safety education and keeping workers safe, this role is for you!
This part-time hourly-based position will deliver Working at Heights instruction at our West GTA locations, including Mississauga and Burlington Training Centres as well as other sites across the province. The role reports to the Manager, Instructor-Led Training and working hours will be Saturdays (8am-4pm), some Sundays and the occasional weekday, if available.
As a Health & Safety Instructor your key responsibilities are:

Delivering engaging and informative Working at Heights training to job seekers, the general public and new and current members of the construction industry
- Evaluating participants through practical skills and written evaluation
- Potentially delivering other courses such as Forklift Training, Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Training, Confined Space Entry and Rescue and more.
- Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hard copy participant records following training
- Participating in team meetings and instructor development workshops
The right candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

3+ years experience delivering training (Working at Heights and MEWP preferred)
- Forklift, mobile elevated work platforms and confined space entry and rescue experience considered a key asset
- Background in construction management and/or other fall hazard-related industry
- Work experience or certification in occupational health & safety preferred
- Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training
- Self-starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team
- Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
- Valid Ontario’s Driver Licence - occasional travel by car for work
- Able to legally work in Canada
