Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to operate various types of vehicles, including heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate trucks and other commercial vehicles to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Assist in basic automotive repair and maintenance of the vehicle as needed.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment when required for loading or unloading freight.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver's license.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Basic automotive repair skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Proficient in operating forklifts and understanding loading/unloading protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate records.
