Job Title: Receptionist/Detailer (Gibbons, AB)
Start Date: Immediately
Status: Full-time
Compensation: $16 - $19 per hour

The Receptionist / Detailer is primarily responsible for answering telephones and welcoming customers as they enter the store while also safely and efficiently supporting the Sales Department through ensuring inventory is presented to the highest level of Gibbons Motor Toys’ quality standards.
Key responsibilities include creating a positive first impression for customers at reception and maintaining that standard through preparing major units for presentation and customer delivery. Daily work will be executed closely with the overall operation of Gibbons Motor Toys to help keep business running smoothly by maintaining high productivity and organization.

The Receptionist / Detailer has a warm and friendly personality, enjoys interacting with people, and appreciates being part of a team with a positive attitude. Clear and well-mannered communication skills are mandatory in this role.
What You’ll Do
Customer Interaction, Reception, and Sales Support
- Greet customers as they enter the store
- Ask questions to ensure the customer is directed to the right area
- Answer phone calls, text messages, and emails
- Provide support to the rest of the Sales Team and other departments as required
- Help maintain an exceptional showroom and other areas by tidying showroom and washroom, emptying trash cans, polishing floors, and helping to wipe down units
- Prepare signage as required by the Sales Manager
- Interact with customers when they are waiting to improve the overall customer experience
- Perform daily cashouts and bank runs
- Collect mail from the post-office and organize and distribute
- Document scanning for electronic filing
- Other tasks as required
Detailing and Unit Presentation
- Perform regular unit cleanup to ensure product for sale is professionally displayed
- Prepare new units for delivery by fully detailing and inspecting
- Cleaning to include thorough powersport unit wipe down, scrubbing boat hulls, washing exterior, cleaning windows, vacuuming carpets, waxing and polishing
- Ensure boats are covered properly and pick up any debris in and around the units
- Inspect units and immediately report any damage or other issues to the Assistant Sales Manager
- Balance reception and detailing responsibilities throughout the day based on operational needs
- Master specific cleaning techniques and maximize productive work hours
Safety and Process Improvements
- Maintain safe work habits and a safe working environment, and report any accidents or injuries
- Always use proper personal protective equipment when required
- Be aware of surroundings to avoid potential hazards or dangerous situations
- Recognize and limit distractions to maximize performance, quality of work, and customer service
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction

Work Schedule
- Store hours are 8:30am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 2:00pm Saturdays
- The schedule for this role is Monday to Friday and every second Saturday
- We are closed all long weekends
- 2 weeks annual vacation entitlement
- Must display reliable attendance and schedule time-off with advance notice
What You’ll Bring
- Strong interpersonal skills, telephone etiquette, and clear communication abilities
- Prior receptionist, office administration, detailing, or cleaning experience is considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy, personal accountability, and ownership
- Knowledge of equipment safety and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to take direction from superiors and follow written and verbal instruction
- Proven ability to maintain high productivity and organization to consistently meet deadlines and daily responsibilities
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Basic math and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, punctual, and a self-starter with a strong work ethic
- Confidence in managing multiple projects while staying organized, productive, and on schedule.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative, with a willingness to bring forward new ideas and see them through.
