Full job description

The Petropolitan is currently seeking experienced, Professional Groomers to join our team at both our Downtown and Killarney locations.

Our team does amazing work, providing a variety of grooming services for pets of all breeds and sizes. Professional experience with a portfolio of work is required. Our groomers maintain a full schedule with clients who take great care of their pets, our salons offer new equipment, air conditioning, and a flexible, commissioned work schedule.

We are currently seeking both full and part time groomers interested in working 20-40 hours a week at both our Downtown and Killarney locations. We have both weekday and weekend work available.

Qualified Candidates:

Are friendly, approachable, professional and energetic. They can professionally engage with clients at check in and out to discuss service requests and details.
Can convey details about the services provided in a way that Client Services can communicate to clients.
Demonstrate a safety-first approach ensuring that staff and guest safety is top priority in any service being provided.
Handle pets with patience, love and care under pressure. Have glowing references with no history of mishandling animals in care.
Be comfortable working under surveillance.
Be able to work in an active environment on your feet, similar to a position in hospitality.
Be willing to provide services to dogs of all breeds and sizes.
Identify guests that may require additional or changes to care plans going forward based on observations of the pet being groomed.
Ensure that all health concerns and medical needs are accurately recorded and communicated to clients before or at check out.

Operational Tasks:

Ensure all equipment is in good working order (dryers, kennels, tubs, etc) and communicate repair needs to management.
Spot check inventory levels of required materials (towels, shampoos, bandanas, colognes, etc) and inform management when new stock is needed.
Cleaning and disinfecting workspace at the end of a shift using supplied equipment.

Education and Experience:

Experienced groomers or bathers with great referrals and a portfolio displaying quality work preferred.

Shifts: Our salons are open 6 & 7 days a week with opportunity to work a flexible schedule.

Job Type: Part and Full Time

Compensation: 50% commission, guaranteed 20% tips, 2% bonus for those who groom over 100k in gross revenue per year.
