Manufacturing company is currently looking for a Sr. Production Supervisor to join their team.

Job Summary

The Sr. Production Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Production Supervisor both am shift and pm shift team, ensuring that all work performed is in compliance with our company Health and Safety Standards, Standard Operating Procedures, and company policies. As part of the Production leadership team, the focus is responsibility for day-to-day Production activities, developing systems and measurements to evaluate employee individual performance, contribution and lead initiatives (e.g. reliability) to facilitate improved productivity.

Job Responsibilities

Train, develop and manage effectively the ongoing performance of direct reports, by reviewing and updating employee development plans, ensuring that all employees are properly trained and qualified to execute their duties.
Providing coaching, feedback and recognition.
Co-ordinate, assign, supervise and review all production activities and outcomes to ensure production equipment is in qualified condition.
Develop systems and metrics to measure and evaluate both productivity and individual performance and contribution on an on-going basis.
Provide results-orientated leadership and guide the initiation and execution of safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives in support of business objectives.
Provide strong leadership to the team that fosters personal development, interaction, and participation.
Build and maintain positive relationships with key business partners within and outside of production technical.
Execute the production strategy according to plan, through clear communication, meeting timelines and engaging the team at all levels while ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
Supervise the team in accordance with Ontario Occupation Health and Safety Act, Health & Safety policies and Employment policies (e.g. Respect in the Workplace – Prevention of Violence and/or Harassment).
Provide recommendations regarding procedural and organizational changes.
Resolve employee issues within the department with the involvement of the next level of management and human resources as required.
Ensure the production team is aligned to all departmental and corporate strategic initiatives.
Act as a specialized manufacturing resource to senior management to support resolution of complex technical and equipment related issues.
Serve as departmental representative in the absence of the department manager.
Work as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes.
Collaborate with production supervisors to ensure sites and surrounding areas, equipment, tools, buildings, and related machinery is kept safe, clean, presentable, and functional to minimize workplace hazards / downtime.
Supervise, train, and mentor employees and enforce company policies requirements.
Lead day-to-day Health & Safety initiatives to ensure teams uphold a safety culture.
Ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation.
Participate and lead performance conversations with employees, including monthly one on ones, to connect on performance; check in on employee’s progress toward achieving objectives, offer support and remove barriers; and, communicate and revisit performance expectations to reinforce and encourage high performance culture and a safe working environment for all employees.
Utilize open, honest, two way communication to build trust-based relationships with employees, business partners and direct leader while continuously improving leadership capabilities by personally seeking feedback and development.
Create a culture which values trust and provides the opportunity for Employee development and growth in pursuit of our purpose and demonstrating our core Values.
Ensure adherence of team members (direct reports) with all compliance programs and company policies and procedures.
All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant technical field, such as engineering.
Three to five years supervisory experience preferred.
Demonstrated leadership experience, particularly in the areas of approachability, dealing with direct reports, managing diversity and setting goals and objectives and measuring performance.
Demonstrate a high level of numerical, statistics, and trending skills.
Computer literacy with Microsoft Office programs and exposure to SAP or other ERPs.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work within a team environment (as part of a team) as demonstrated through previous work experience.
Previous experience Manufacturing industry an asset.
Ability to motivate self and others.
Proven experience in technical and other problem solving.
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to $75,000.00 per year
