The Software Lifecycle & Endpoint Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end management, governance, and optimization of the organization’s desktop and cloud software ecosystem. This role combines Software Asset Management (SAM), endpoint engineering, software packaging, vulnerability remediation, and patch management to ensure corporate endpoints remain secure, standardized, cost-effective, and operationally efficient.
The successful candidate will act as a key technical resource supporting enterprise software lifecycle activities including application packaging, automated deployments, software rationalization, cloud licensing oversight, compatibility testing, and endpoint security compliance. This role also serves as a bridge between IT Operations, Security, Procurement, and business stakeholders to support software governance and modernization initiatives.
- Maintain and manage a comprehensive inventory of all desktop and cloud (SaaS) applications across the enterprise

Monitor software renewal cycles and collaborate with Procurement on vendor evaluations, renewals, and cost optimization initiatives

Identify redundant or underutilized applications and lead software rationalization and standardization efforts

Manage the decommissioning and retirement of obsolete, unauthorized, or unsupported software

Package and re-package enterprise applications and security patches for automated deployment using tools such as Flexera AdminStudio, InstallShield, or similar technologies

Develop and maintain deployment automation scripts using PowerShell and other scripting technologies

Perform application compatibility testing to ensure successful deployment across corporate operating system builds and endpoint configurations

Coordinate deployment of third-party security patches across enterprise endpoints

Monitor vendor and security bulletins to ensure patch compliance targets and remediation SLAs are achieved

Troubleshoot failed software deployments, packaging issues, and endpoint vulnerabilities

Support vulnerability remediation efforts in collaboration with Security and Infrastructure teams

Establish and maintain enterprise software governance standards and approved software baselines

Generate reporting related to software usage, compliance, and license utilization to support optimization and reclamation initiatives

Serve as a technical lead for software lifecycle and migration initiatives, including cloud platform transitions and enterprise application upgrades

Collaborate with Desktop Engineering, Security, Procurement, and business stakeholders to improve endpoint management processes and governance practices
- Proven experience with enterprise software packaging technologies such as Flexera AdminStudio, InstallShield, or Wise Package Studio

Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell

Hands-on experience with endpoint management and deployment platforms such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM (MECM), or Ivanti EPM

Experience supporting enterprise software deployment, patching, and endpoint management in large-scale environments

Strong understanding of Software Asset Management (SAM) principles and software lifecycle governance

Experience managing SaaS licensing and cloud application ecosystems including Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, Lucid, and similar platforms

Knowledge of vulnerability management, endpoint security practices, and patch compliance processes

Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills related to software deployment and endpoint issues

Ability to analyze software portfolios and identify opportunities for consolidation, optimization, and cost savings

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment

Experience leading or supporting software migration and modernization initiatives is considered an asset
