The Position

For this position, you need to have experience on Reach forklift and your forklift licence up-to-date and you must be authorized to work in canada. We won't contact you if you don't have these 3 qualifications.

The Receiving Coordinator is responsible for inspecting and recording incoming deliveries, ensuring any errors or damage are documented. They oversee loading and unloading, inspect goods, record shortages, reject damaged items, and route goods to storage.

They also maintain records, report discrepancies, process paperwork, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Other responsibilities include scheduling, managing inventory, arranging supplier deliveries, and operating equipment as needed.

The job requires 70 percent office work and record keeping

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Watch the loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other vehicles including the completion of the truck/material inspection. Report any damaged to the material, truck deficiencies, etc. during the loading/unloading.
For refrigerated or frozen loads, temperature checks to be completed and recorded as per requirement.
Make sure all equipment and the receiving area are clean and sanitized.
Check trucks/tankers and received loads to ensure they are clean and sanitized.
Compare incoming goods with invoices, lot numbers, or other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods.
For packaging material (i.e., printed webs. labels, sleeves) a sample needs to be compared with the current artwork available in the shared drive.
Unpack, code, and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
Keep records both manually and using a computer, including COAs, etc.
Report any discrepancies between BOL and received goods, to the immediate supervisor.
Process all required paperwork and keep accurate records for reporting and tracking on a daily basis.
Receive ingredients, packaging, equipment, and chemicals only from Approved Suppliers, unless otherwise notified by QC and Purchasing.
Check that all necessary paperwork from an approved supplier is available at the time of receipt.
Confirm that the P.O. matches the supplier packing slip upon receipt.
Enter the ingredient/packaging information into the computer with the date received, code, description, quantity, and location.
Follow the Allergen Awareness policy when moving or storing ingredients, including the labeling of all pallets containing allergens with the internal yellow signs (stickers).
Inform Quality Control of any substandard/defective ingredients/packaging upon receipt/truck deficiencies.
Gather all substandard/defective ingredients/packaging to return to the supplier.
Provide Quality Control with any packaging/ingredient requests.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Ensure that Receiving activities adhere to the company’s various programs and policies such as: GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), Quality Points, Hearing Protection, Safety, Hygiene, Food Safety/Allergen Program.
Keep a daily receiving schedule and prepare supply chain documents (for the next day’s production.
Maintain movement of goods schedules for the day and week.
Ensure the supply staging process for production is complete with all ingredient/packaging requirements for the next day’s production.
Release refrigerated & frozen ingredients and packaging from the inventory system for use in production per the production schedule. Review thaw report and update as appropriate.
Receive orders from purchasing and file in the designated area.
Report order errors to the Purchasing Department.
Organize daily requirements for ingredients and packaging material in the proper location in Syspro. For refrigerated and frozen items, proper location must be selected, never to store ambient.
Store all ingredients and packaging received on pallets and off the floor.
Arrange supplier delivery appointments for ingredients and packaging.
Provide weigh station with ingredient requirements.
Make inventory adjustments in the computer for returned items, computer errors, damage, or spillage.
Follow the employee traffic flow pattern for his/her designated workstation.
Be aware that daily duties can impact food safety and quality.
Operate forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
Cross train and work in other areas as needed to support the overall site team.
Assist with Shipping & Receiving as assigned or required.
Other duties as assigned.

Ideal Qualifications:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
Minimum 1-3 years experience in a receiving role in a warehouse environment.
Must have Reach forklift experience and be certified or willing to get certified.
Self-motivated, able to work independently and as a team player.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English to interact with supervisors, co-workers and customers.
Capable of lifting to 50lbs on a regular basis.
Strong focus on workplace safety.
Strong focus on Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety and Quality.
Knowledge of computers with the ability to learn in-house systems.
