Job description

Under the general direction of the Retail Manager and Retail Lead, a Danby Sales Associate is responsible for achieving physical and financial goals within the front store. They play a critical role in ensuring that store objectives are met, including maintaining accurate inventory counts and adhering to established merchandising practices. Additionally, they serve as company ambassadors, delivering positive and professional experiences to all visitors and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service:

Serve as a brand ambassador by providing exceptional customer service to all visitors and customers.
Engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences, offering product recommendations and assistance as needed.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.

Operational Excellence:

Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times.
Contribute to the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the store environment.
Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reconciliation.

Inventory Management:

Conduct regular inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
Assist in the replenishment and organization of merchandise to optimize product availability and visibility.
Monitor inventory levels and promptly report any discrepancies or shortages to management.

Merchandising Practices:

Maintain a visually appealing and organized store layout to enhance the customer shopping experience.
Participate in the set-up and execution of promotional displays and seasonal campaigns.
Ensure compliance with established merchandising standards and guidelines.

Achieve Physical and Financial Goals:

Work collaboratively with the Retail Manager and Lead to meet or exceed sales targets and revenue objectives.
Contribute to the development and execution of strategies to drive sales growth and profitability.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Proven experience in retail sales or customer service roles, preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Basic math skills and proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The Danby Sales Associate plays a vital role in driving the success of the front store operations. By delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining accurate inventory, and upholding merchandising standards, they contribute to creating a positive and rewarding shopping experience for all customers.

Working Conditions

The Danby Sales Associate works in a retail setting within our main headquarters in Guelph, Ontario.
This individual spends most of their time in a standing position.
Data entry is required on a daily basis.
Some lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of product weighing 50lbs may be required.
