We currently have an opening for a talented and energetic Mechanical Designer interested in a challenging yet rewarding role in the Machine Design Industry. As a Mechanical Designer with StrongPoint Automation you are responsible for all aspects of project work including, detailed design, drawing and BOM creation along with meeting project objectives and milestones. You will be responsible for reviewing time estimates and ensuring designs are within budget pertaining to the mechanical design scope. You will liaise with interdepartmental representatives and the customer to ensure that your designs are in keeping with expectations, presented proposals and requirements. You are fully experienced in 2D & 3D Cad Software.
Core Responsibilities:
- Creation of 3D models of project components and designs including robotic tooling, material handling and custom engineered assemblies
- Interaction with vendors to obtain component quotations and specifications
- Creation of Purchase Requisitions for Specialized Design Elements
- Sizing and selection of Materials and Components
- Interaction with shop personnel during project assembly and testing phase
- Interaction with PLC & Automation Specialists for design co-ordination
Requirements:
- University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or 3 Year College Diploma in Mechanical Design
- 3-5 Years of experience in Design
- Knowledge of Pneumatics, Motor Selection & Design of Mechanisms
- Knowledge of Drawing Layouts and Detail Dimensioning
- Strong Verbal, Interpersonal and Written communication skills
- Strong Problem solving abilities and Critical Thinking Skills
- SolidWorks 3D Solid Modeling Experience is Essential
- Flexibility in Work Hours Based on Project Loading

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
