Job Description: The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty equipment, trucks, and machinery. This role is crucial to ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Requirements/Skills:
- Minimum 5 years shop experience an asset
- Valid class 5 driver’s licence required, class 3 with airbrake endorsement an asset
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills as well as a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Very organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities at once
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy parts and equipment
Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining all types of construction equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy-duty equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work
- Work safely and efficiently
- Interpret work orders and instruction manuals
- Responds to vehicle breakdowns in the field when requested
- Maintain a clean work area
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and efficient service
- Perform all other duties as requested by the Shop Manager
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$42.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
