Summary of the role
We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Fellowship to assist Dr. Claire Kendall at the Bruyère Health Research Institute (Bruyère Health RI). The Postdoctoral fellow will be able to advance their education, broaden their research expertise, and strengthen their CV through presentations and publications.
Our research team is dedicated to strengthening primary care for integrated health equity, with a focus on social accountability.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Postdoctoral Fellowship to join our team to actively contribute to an ongoing project research project. With CIHR funding until 2026, the aim of this project is to map out the contribution community-campus engagement (CCE) makes to improving population health outcomes (in two distinct settings (Thunder Bay and Ottawa). The Postdoctoral Fellow will play a key role in executing the next phase of this project; responsibilities will include participating study design, data analysis and interpretation, as well as contributing to grant management, manuscript and report writing, and research ethics applications.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Develop the study data collection plan
- Lead data collection (plan, conduct, and analyze focus groups and key informant interviews)
- Collaborate with researchers, knowledge users and partners, and students (including co-supervision)
- Lead analysis and writing, resulting in publishable manuscript(s) and presentation opportunities
- Contribute to knowledge mobilization
Additional duties may be added as project progress
Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, humanities, epidemiology)
- Experience conducting qualitative research (e.g., conducting interviews, document analysis, thematic analysis, etc.)
- Demonstrating writing skills (published manuscripts, reports)
- Experience working on dynamic interdisciplinary teams
- Experience with theory-based evaluation, an asset
- Fluent in French and English, an asset
