Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Associate to join our growing transportation and logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, building strong relationships with major customers, and maintaining long-term client accounts within the logistics and trucking industry.
This role requires strong communication skills, sales experience, and the ability to professionally manage customer relationships while helping grow the company’s freight business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
- Generate new business opportunities for the company within the transportation and logistics sector.
- Establish and manage customer accounts with major companies such as Sobeys, Walmart, VersaCold, and other large-scale clients.
- Maintain professional communication with customers and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with dispatch and operations teams to ensure smooth service execution.
- Follow up with customers regarding freight requirements, service updates, and ongoing business opportunities.
- Prepare sales reports, customer updates, and account records.
- Work towards achieving company sales targets and business growth objectives.
- Build long-term partnerships and maintain strong customer retention.
Requirements
- Previous experience in sales, logistics, transportation, or trucking industry is required.
- Strong understanding of freight operations and customer relationship management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional business relationships.
- Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing industry contacts or experience dealing with large retail or logistics companies is considered an asset.
- Experience in account management and business development preferred.
