Role Summary:
Our Calgary Branch is looking for a dependable and experienced Fire Extinguisher Technician who is currently based in Calgary to join the Vipond Calgary team. This position is fully field‑based, supporting customers on-site and ensuring their fire extinguishers meet all safety and code requirements. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys working independently, interacting with clients, and delivering high-quality service.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site inspections, and repairs of portable fire extinguishers in accordance with Alberta Fire Code and NFPA standards.
- Conduct annual inspections for commercial, industrial, and residential customers.
- Complete all service reports, tags, and documentation accurately while on-site.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to customers in a professional manner.
- Manage daily route planning and maintain a clean, organized service vehicle.
- Follow all safety procedures and industry best practices while working in the field.
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must have Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician certification or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of NFPA 10 and Alberta Fire Code requirements.
- Valid Alberta driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in the field.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds as required.
- High pressure hydro testing & CO2 testing certification & experience would be considered an asset
