Warehouse Driver

Vallen currently has a full time permanent opening for a Warehouse Driver in our Nisku Branch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support for basic warehouse operations as required
- Loading and unloading materials in warehouse
- Picking orders and preparing them for delivery
- Monitoring and tracking inventory as per company procedures
- General cleanup and other tasks as required
- Adhering to standards/processes in warehouse operations
- Performing other related duties and safety checks as required
- The ability to meet deadlines for shipment ‘cut-off’ times to customers while simultaneously coordinating multiple projects.
- The ideal candidate will be a team player with the ability to work effectively with other warehouse personnel.
- Follow proper company policies and procedures when handling paperwork and inventory.
- Make deliveries as scheduled and perform additional duties (such as loading/unloading, order-picking and packing) as assigned by the warehouse supervisor.
- Steel-toed boots are mandatory. When necessary, additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats and safety glasses are supplied.
The ideal candidate will have the following required qualifications:
- Previous warehouse or retail experience considered an asset
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Ability to problem solve
- Strong organizational skills
- Focus on customer service
- Dexterity with small tools such as a utility knife
- Excellent physical condition - ability to lift up to 60 lb.
- Ability to operate a forklift is considered an asset
- Hand/eye coordination
- Prolonged standing/walking
- Safe use of a ladder
- The ability to exhibit team spirit in the branch, and effectively interface with department personnel, while working in a fast-paced environment.
Forklift certification and an understanding of ISO procedures, Workplace hazardous Materials information System (WHMIS) and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations would be considered an asset.
