Full job description

About the role
We are looking for a Website Developer to maintain, improve, and build features for our organizational websites. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with existing sites, troubleshooting issues, and implementing clean, user-friendly designs.

Key responsibilities

Maintain and update existing websites (content, layout, and functionality).
Troubleshoot and resolve website bugs, performance, and display issues.
Implement new pages, sections, and features based on project requirements.
Collaborate with staff to translate ideas and content into effective web experiences.
Ensure websites are mobile-responsive, accessible, and follow best practices for usability and SEO.
Document key processes and provide basic training or handover notes as needed.

Required qualifications and skills

Proven experience as a web / front‑end developer.
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with at least one CMS (e.g., WordPress) and common plugins/themes.
Familiarity with responsive design and cross‑browser compatibility.
Basic understanding of website security and performance optimization.
Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and good communication skills.

Assets (nice to have)

Experience with PHP or another back‑end language.
Experience with website hosting, cPanel, and DNS.
Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
Experience working with non‑profits or community organizations.

Contract details

Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance.
Start date: as soon as possible

Pay: $17.60 per hour
