Wee Wild Ones is expanding! Currently operating in Calgary, Alberta, we will be opening our first location in St. John's( NB) and we are looking for an experienced Administrative Director to join our team! This Director will support in the early stages of the location, along with opening of the centre and day to-day operations.
Background
Wee Wild Ones is seeking a highly organized, self-directed Administrative Director to lead our Saint John location. The Administrative Director manages enrollment, family engagement and executes all administrative duties within their centre. This individual lives the Wee Wild Ones values, believes in its mission and is committed to achieving its visionary standard. Collaborating with the Program Director the Administrative Director possesses exceptional attention to detail, is well-organized and has strong problem-solving skills.
This role is responsible for bringing the centre from an empty space to fully licensed, approved, and ready for opening. The Administrative Director will take ownership of the enrollment, onboarding and creation of all family facing documentation and system and requirements, while supporting the other Director with all aspects of centre readiness. This is an ideal opportunity for a leader who thrives in independent, hands-on environments and takes pride in building something from the ground up.
This position reports to the Executive Administrative Director.
Role Specific Info
Requirements for this role include:
- ECE Designation
- Standard First Aid and Level “C” CPR
- Experience with the Reggio Emilia approach, NB's Framework, or similar child-led, inquiry-based philosophies
- Fluent reading, speaking, and writing in English
- 3+ years of combined experience, as a centre director
- Familiarity with Newfoundland's Child Care Licensing, Accreditation, and Health regulations
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, hours to be determined.
The Administrative Director is to provide support in the centres daily operations. This would include, but is not limited to:
- Managing all team members at the centre
- Supporting Executive and Director with the execution of day-to-day programming, coverage, cleaning and daily operations of the facility
- Supporting in the onboarding and training of new team members/Families
- Supporting Educators in the classroom with carrying out educational directives and resolving issues that arise in the classroom
- Delivers constructive feedback in the moment to all team members at their centre as required
- Please note: this role will support with the early stages of the centre, including getting the centre ready to operate and open
- Support the full childcare licensing process from application to approvals
- Set up centre family waitlist and management
- Start family enrollment and onboarding process. (Including all documentation and file set up required)
- Support the physical setup of the centre, including furniture assembly and classroom setup
- Organize and prepare learning environments to meet licensing and Wee Wild Ones standards
- Ensure all materials, documentation, and systems are in place prior to opening
- Ensure all environments, materials, and systems reflect Wee Wild Ones standards and philosophy
- Identify and take initiative on all tasks required to bring the centre to a fully operational state
Project Management & Execution
- Work independently to move all aspects of the project forward
- Take initiative in problem-solving and decision-making throughout the setup process
- Maintain accountability to timelines and opening goals
- Communicate clearly and consistently with leadership on progress
- Support all Health Services requirements
- Support the centre meeting all provincial regulations and requirements for opening
- Point of contact with all regulatory bodies
