CERTIFIED TRADESPERSON
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the preferred candidate is an Industrial Millwright, Electrician, Welder or Heavy Duty Mechanic with a good understanding of mechanical and hydraulics concepts, process systems, PLC Controls, HMI Programming, and motor control systems. Attention to safety and efficiency is a must. Good interpersonal and communication skills are also required to work in our team environment.
Specific duties include:
- Manage and perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
- Identify mechanical and hydraulic problems and assist in finding solutions and making necessary repairs promptly.
- Assist in troubleshooting machinery issues and be able to estimate a projected time frame for repairs.
- Change sprockets, bearings, chains, etc., and cutting, welding, and perform fabrication work with different types of steel
- Communicating effectively with Supervisors about how the equipment is running and learn about any problems.
- Submit work requests to the Planning and Scheduling Department.
- Perform any other duties requested by the Supervisor to keep production in operation.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with health and safety practices and use of personal protective equipment.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- a valid Provincial/Inter-provincial Trades Certification
- Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
- The ability to read, write, and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work without constant supervision.
- Must obtain the skills to be able to run any piece of equipment so that test runs can be performed for each machine on which repairs are made.
- Must be a team player and able to work with others professionally.
- This position requires someone who is a self-starter and works independently without supervision.
- Be flexible at times with your work schedule (outside of regular hours) so that repairs or projects can be completed with minimal interruption to production.
Wage: $42.41
