I had no work life balance. I never got reimbursed for after hours work, I worked after work almost on a daily basis. When I addressed my concerns, they were never taken seriously. Everyone talks about each other, not a good environment to work in. They let the drivers run the place and talk to you how ever they want with little to no repercussion (a handful of drivers made my time here a little enjoyable). I did enjoy the company when I first got hired but it went down hill very quickly. If you have other opportunities, don’t waste your time with this one. 

BDR is growing which presents opportunities and some challenges.  Always looking for input from everyone involved.  Office is clean but crowded.  Future plans looking to expand the office.  ELD program in effect for both Canadian and US side which keeps us within legal hours.  Whole company works hard to keep Family atmosphere.  Driver breakfasts, BBQ's, Bowling, Christmas planned annually.  Drivers are friendly and receive constant feedback on Driver interactions with customers.  Staff always helpful and good at looking at the big picture.

BDR is a great company to work for, open door policy, open to ideas for improvement. good people, awesome drivers.  Everyone works hard and are well compensated and appreciation is given for hard work and self starting.  Extra hands (including management and owners) are always available if you get behind. Team environment is strong. Management is clear in their expectations and fair in and disciplinary or learning expectations.

Only become an owner operator if your willing to do almost free favors regularly.  They pay by percentage so your sitting at shippers and receivers for up to 3 hours and thats lots of wasted time for owner operators, but company doesnt care. They say to call in if you wait a long time but they do nothing about that.  On paper it looks like you make good money but after fuel and maintenance and sitting for hours all day in traffic and docks its not that great. Just a heads up

BDR is a family owned and operated company where owners and management are part and parcel of the daily operation.  The company is well run, transparent in its expectations and operation.  BDR is growing and positioning itself to be competitive with relevant dependable service availability in the changing international market. 

The transportation industry is always busy and sometimes stressful but having a great atmosphere in the office makes coming to work easy.  BDR keeps families in mind when planning events like BBQ's and Christmas parties, where you can bring the entire family.  The owners are also there to help support you whenever you need it.

If you like to work hard, lots of work all the time.  Owner is behind you on every move making sure you are making money and getting the home time you desire.  Paying on percentage,  so the harder you work the more money you make.   Ltl or full loads, your choice.

I work for this company for a short time.While I was there, though, I really enjoyed the work.The staff are very helpful.Dispatcher kept things nice and organized for you, and the warehouse did not take long to unload you or load you very efficient company

My experience was not a pleasant one , the managers could use some courses on how to manage appropriately as they do not know how to talk to people or handle issues professionally. There is 0 compassion for employees. 

Long Days, Communication is lacking. Workload varies day to day.  Im not enjoying the office versus the drivers mentality. They constantly speak about team atmosphere but there is lots of animosity.  Here's hoping it gets better after the move.
